Steve has been repairing my collection of instruments for the last ten years or so. He has done excellent work on some pretty damaged instruments that I have found. (see pictures of the ukes) Steve

Met Steve at Whitby folk week and fell in love with one of his guitars! I'll be sure to give them good publicity when i'm famous!

During the folk week, I 'test drove' many guitars, including a Martin, Collings and an Oakwood (all of which cost nearly twice as much) and the tone was nowhere near as clear and bright as the ChapelGuitars guitars.

I decided to have an undersaddle pickup fitted to a rather expensive guitar I was aware of the quality of workmanship required to complete the installation correctly and to compliment the standard of the guitar build. Having seen examples of their work and spoken to Steve I chose Chapel.Result? Excellent workmanship, unbeatable value, outstanding customer consideration, an overall first class and memorable experience.I look forward to our next meeting.

[Only put down my instrument long enough to eat and send this message of thanks and praise to Steve for building a very special Bouzouki indeed. Exquisitely crafted and personalized to my desired requirements guided by Steves’ expert advice it sounds wonderful. Now I know what musicians mean by ‘beautiful action’. Many Thanks].

Many thanks for fettling my mandola during Folk Week. Although it is of humble origins, it is now a delight to play!

Thanks , Steve, for doing a truly splendid job of re-fretting my Flambeau 12-string,it’s like a new guitar now which just seems to resonate forever with a rich bass, vibrant mid-range and crisp trebles, all perfectly balanced! The set-up is precise with a delightful, easy action and I’m thoroughly impressed by your excellent workmanship and attention to detail. Many, many thanks!!

Steve built me an electro acoustic guitar from scratch. In March 2011 he and I discussed types of wood, the shape of body and how the guitar would be customised for a blind musician in order I could use my sense of touch more.
At the end of June I collected my guitar. I knew straight away this was the guitar for me by its excellent tone and high quality playability.
I would not hesitate to recommend Steve for his guitar building skills and for his restoration service, particularly to anyone with sight impairment or blindness. He explained so clearly the stages of my guitar’s development.
Steve, thank you so much!

To say I\'m pleased with my new guitar is something of an understatement - delighted comes a little closer. Steve has listened to everything I wanted, and really come up with the goods - the sound and action of my new guitar are just what I hoped for and more - and I am sure that the sound will only improve as the instrument continues to play in. I would not hesitate to recomend that anyone looking for a hand-crafted guitar should talk to Steve - I am sure they will be as pleased as me with the outcome. Thanks again Steve.

Steve re-fretted my Larrivee. Did a great job. Sounds fantastic. The Larri is now as happy as Larry and so am I. Many thanks, Steve.
